There are presently no open calls for submissions.

We are looking for: Self-published or unpublished manuscripts that are professional, complete, polished and well-edited. Maximum length allowed is 100,000 words.

The winning eBooks will be promoted in Arizona libraries during ONEBOOKAZ month of April with book discussions, scholarly lectures, author appearances and other library programming.  

Community-wide reading programs such as ONEBOOKAZ encourage everyone in Arizona to read the same books and then come together to discuss them.

The Goals of ONEBOOKAZ are:
  • To celebrate literature
  • To foster a sense of community
  • To support Arizona authors
  • To enhance digital literacy skills

Eligibility: The ONEBOOKAZ writing competition is open to authors residing in Arizona as of the October 14, 2015 entry deadline. Employees of the Arizona State Library are not eligible to participate. By participating in this competition, entrants agree to be bound by these official rules and by the decisions of the Arizona State Library, whose decisions are final in all matters relating to this competition. Author’s submission is the author’s guarantee that they are the sole author and copyright holder of the content. Only one entry per person.
